For those who read my post earlier this week about Big Y’s application for the Town’s last remaining liquor license, I’m disappointed to report that on May 6, the Town Council voted 8-1 to grant the license to Big Y.
When you’re shopping for liquor in Franklin, or anything else for that matter, please keep our locally owned small businesses in mind. One stop shopping is convenient, and there will undoubtedly be times when you’re in a hurry and just need to grab a quick bottle of wine along with dinner ingredients at the supermarket. However, I can guarantee you that if you’re looking for something unusual or need advice, you won’t get the type of service from Big Y or Shaw’s that you would from an independent store. So when you have a little more time, why not stop in at Franklin Liquors, Pour Richard’s Wine and Spirits, or one of our other locally owned liquor stores and really get to know the proprietors and their amazing depth of knowledge about the products they sell? You’ll find what you’re looking for, you’ll help support your own community, and you’ll probably learn a lot in the process. Don’t miss out.
