It’s getting to be the time of year when I think about switching over from iced coffee to hot coffee. (Still on iced as of today, though.)
For the most part I make my own coffee, but sometimes when I’m out and about I’ll buy it for the sake of convenience. I’ll confess I’m no stranger to the Dunkin Donuts drive-thru (this is Massachusetts, after all), but no one will be surprised to hear that I prefer to shop local when I can. The coffee is better and the community connection is too!
My two favorites in Franklin have to be Elizabeth’s Bagels and the Cake Bar. Elizabeth’s Bagels, on West Central Street, is perfect for breakfast or a savory lunch, and the Cake Bar on East Central is the place for a thoroughly indulgent afternoon treat. I’ve also heard great things about Rail Good Coffee at the Franklin/Dean College train station, but haven’t had the chance to try it myself since I’m no longer a daily commuter. For all his good points (and there are many!), my husband is not a coffee drinker, so I can’t dispatch him to check it out for me.
What are your favorite places to get coffee in the Franklin area? Let me know!
