If you missed the Century 21 Commonwealth food drive, don’t panic – the Franklin Food Elves are on the job!
The Food Elves are a local community service group composed of over 90 students from Franklin schools. Every year, they hold the 12 Days of Donating event to raise money and donations for the Franklin Food Pantry, and this year’s event kicked off on December 1. If you live in Franklin you’ve probably received a flyer at your home from the Food Elves. If you’re interested in helping out, just leave your donation on your front porch or near your mailbox before 10 AM on Sunday, December 6, or you can drop off your donation at any of the 10 local businesses hosting collection boxes from December 1-12. Just look for the red bins, and remember – if the Food Elves meet their goal of collecting over 1,200 pounds of food this year, each participating business will donate an additional $200 to the Food Pantry!
Participating businesses include: Chestnut Dental Associates (38 Pond St.); DCU (500 W. Central St.); Dean Bank (21 Main St.); Dean College (Campus Center); Franklin Downtown Partnership (9 E. Central St.); Jane’s Frames (11 E. Central St.); Keefe Insurance (51 W. Central St.); Murphy Business (15 E. Central St.); Pour Richard’s Wine & Spirits (14 Grove St.); and the Adirondack Club (800 Chestnut St.).
